Four Benefits on Owning a Mobile Home

November 12th, 2008

Buying a mobile home is an affordable way to begin your life as a homeowner. If you’re considering buying a new or used mobile home, here are a few benefits you may want to think about before your purchase.

1. They cost less than a traditional home to purchase. Mobile homes can start as low as $20,000 each, which is less than most new cars on the market! They make housing very affordable to those looking for an additional home, their first home or for those people who just can’t afford a larger home.

2. They require less maintenance. Mobile homes require much less maintenance than a traditionally built home. Those who purchase a mobile home don’t need to worry about spending thousands of dollars each year on basic upkeep. Mobile homes are built with low-maintenance in mind and homeowners state they rarely have a need to repair.

3. They are portable. Mobile homes can be moved, with the assistance of professional trailer moving companies. Thus, if you buy a mobile home you can choose to move it anywhere you’d like. If you have a job that requires you to move often, you can easily take your home with you upon relocation.

4. They are stylish. Yes, today’s mobile home designs are so stylish they look like traditional homes. In fact, unless you move into a trailer park people may not even realize your home is a mobile home. With upgrades like porches, lofts and master suites there is a great deal of class in each modern mobile home.

Four Trends In Todays Mobile Home Designs

November 5th, 2008

Today’s mobile homes are nothing like the metal disasters of the past. In fact, some of today’s mobile home designs are beautiful and luxurious! If you’re in the market for a new or used mobile home, here are four trends you have to look forward to discovering along your search.

Lofts

One of the most interesting trends in modern mobile home designs is the addition of a loft. A loft area is often added above the living space, allowing for an extra room of sorts. Most people use the loft area for a game room, extra guest space or for a den.

Porches

For those wishing to make their mobile home look like a traditional house, porches are now a big trend. A front porch allows homeowners to sit and enjoy their view. A back porch offers the perfect place to cook out or have guests over for a picnic.

Upgraded Master Suites

Master suites are important in any new house sale today. Thus, mobile home designers are choosing to upgrade their master suites as well. Some mobile homes today are equipped with larger master bedrooms, including bathrooms with separate showers and whirlpool tubs. Talk about luxury!

Basements

One reason many people steer clear of mobile homes is because they feel they aren’t as safe as traditional homes, in case of a storm or tornado. This is true for the mobile homes of the past. Today’s mobile homes are safer than ever and can even be built upon a concrete basement! Thus, homeowners can feel safe and secure knowing they have a haven to retreat to upon a brewing storm in their area.

Distinguishing Features of Manufactured Homes

October 31st, 2008

A manufactured home may be an appealing option for you. These homes come in a variety of styles, sizes, and floor plans, and range in price from about $15,000 to more than $100,000 without land. A manufactured home can range in size from 640 square feet all the way up to a spacious 2305 square feet.

Manufactured homes offer a way to affordable luxury at a price that is dramatically lower than can be achieved with site-built construction methods. But there is still a big gap in knowledge about these homes, even among Realtors and others involved in selling these products.

Manufactured homes are predominantly single-story and are delivered to the home site in one, two or three sections.

Manufactured homes are available in non-drywall, partial drywall, or full finished drywall. A manufactured home is one type of factory-built prefab housing. Other types of factory-built housing include modular homes, panelized homes, mobile homes, and pre-cut homes.

Manufactured homes are typically purchased from a retail sales company that may be independently owned and operated, initially assembled by a local contracting company, and follow-up repairs performed by the manufactured home company under warranty. For this reason, customer service and reputation are extremely important.

Manufactured homes are available in a variety of floor plans that include spacious living rooms, dining rooms, fully equipped kitchens, one or more bedrooms, family rooms, and utility rooms. Depending upon your needs and the size of your lot, you can choose a single-section home plan or a larger multi-section design.

Manufactured homes are not large recreational vehicles. The latter are more properly called travel trailers, motor homes or RVs, and they are usually parked at facilities called trailer parks, trailer courts, or RV parks for short terms.

Depending on the location and excluding the cost of land, construction cost per square foot for a new manufactured home averages anywhere from 10 to 35 percent less than a comparable site-built home. A manufactured home is the answer if you are looking for a first home, a larger home for your growing family, or the perfect retirement home.

Manufactured Homes Make Up 25% of Purchases?

October 22nd, 2008

Are manufactured homes really becoming more popular? Some statistics would make it seem so…

I ran across this blog post claiming that in the Sequim / Port Angeles area of Washington state, over 25% of all homes sold in the past 4 years have been manufactured homes. Wow!

Even though we’re in the business, that’s that surprised us. I mean, we know that manufactured homes can be a far better value, but who would’ve thought that 25% of the people in this Pacific Northwest region were that savvy too?

You can see the stats and read the whole post here

Another Happy Customer

September 25th, 2008

Hi John,

I spoke with you earlier today about the great conversation I had with Dennis Hills.

I’ve been in business development myself for 20 years so I believe I recognize good customer service when I receive it.

Dennis was very professional, articulate, and sincere in his helping me understand your industry, and your company’s place in it.

At the same time, he was not the high pressure, typical “sales” person insisting that today, right now we need to make this happen.

Anyway John, I wanted you to know Dennis represented your company very well, and I look forward to working with him in the weeks ahead.

Fell free to call me if you have any questions, as I am much better on the phone than typing.

Continued success,
Dave Goleeke

Park Model Home Prices Leave Everyone A Winner

September 19th, 2008

With retirees and vacationers looking to save money, while not compromising comfort the market for vacation properties is quite affordable. While retirees of the past often spent their savings on RVs to travel the country in, a tightening economy and the soaring cost of gasoline have made Park Model home prices more attractive.

Both retired people and frequent travelers want to experience the comfort of a vacation home, without paying a high price. Thus, they are turning to low Park Model home prices. Park Model home prices are available for a fraction of the cost a recreational vehicle and its maintenance.

Never seen one? Check out this short video with Jim Wilson, J&M’s business owner…

Not only are Park Model homes affordable, they’re also quite comfortable. The clever layout of these homes allows them to be quite multifunctional as well. Each item used to construct a Park Model home is made of high quality raw materials. There are no corners cut and quality is never compromised.

Starting at $20,000 anyone can add a Park Model home to their existing property (for guest house use) or to a new vacationing property. The low Park Model home prices also make them ideal for a mother-in-law suite. Because these homes are so charming and require such little time to construct, you can easily have a place for your in-laws to stay comfortably when they visit.

For the same price of a Park Model home, travelers could not even buy enough gas to travel for a year around the country in a RV! Thus, these homes are a great way to spend your retirement savings wisely, while not compromising on quality or adventure.

Park Model RV Homes Will Save You Cash!

September 17th, 2008

Who wants to spend their life savings on gasoline to power a RV? Not most people! While retirement brings the idea of relaxation and travel, it’s possible to experience the beauty of your favorite places without living in a motor home coach. Instead, you can purchase and build a Park Model RV home in your desired location.

With Park Model rv homes there is no need to pack up personal belongings each time you want to head for the mountains. Instead, you will have your very own mini home waiting for you with all of your favorite luxuries.

Unlike the bumpy adventure you’ll have with a traditional RV, Park Model homes are quite stable. These homes are durable and safe, offering home owners a great quality for as little as $20,000 each.

Of course, these luxurious small homes aren’t only for retirees. They are great for the entire family! Many families choose to make the purchase together, allowing each portion of the family the opportunity to use the home at coordinated times throughout the year.

Park models are also the perfect hunting cabin for women who want to tag along on hunting trips but would rather not stay in a tent while their husband’s are out on the range.

Whatever the need, a Park Model home is ideal! The homes are available in multiple floor plans and models, allowing consumers to practically build-to-suit within the specific floor plans. With front porch additions and luxurious amenity options, Park Model homes appeal to everyone.
